Manganese in reef aquaria is essential for corals.
Delivery: 2-4 business days
Recent studies have shown that the element manganese plays a central role for corals. In the case of manganese deficiency, fewer symbiotic zooxanthellae can be formed, which is why there is a drastic decrease in photosynthetic activity in corals. This ultimately leads to reduced energy production and thus slower growth of corals. In addition, manganese-dependent enzymes can protect corals from heat stress and thus delay the so-called coral bleaching. Manganese is believed to have other unexplored yet essential physiological properties for corals.
Dosing tip:The optimal concentration is 0.8 - 1.3 µg/l.
1 ml increases the manganese content of 100 liters of tank volume by 0.5 µg/l.
